The ‘God & Nature Collection’ is a series of works that highlights bible scripture that references the natural elements of the earth. This body of work is heavily influenced by Japanese wood block prints (ukiyo-e) and historic oriental hanging scrolls. Many of these historical works of art feature Mountains, Flowers, Birds etc, and this series is in part, homage to them.In Matthew 6: 25 – 34, Jesus Himself refers to certain elements of nature, and reminds us to consider and think about them. It is my desire that this series of works encourages us to do just that, all the while remembering; that Jesus told us that we are more valuable in God’s sight.Using the hanging scroll format, the framing of this collection uses the earth’s natural elements in its make up, such as: Marble, Rock, Wood, Stone and others to help compliment its meaning and purpose.

Beautifully crafted with the bible scripture in both Japanese and English [Shodo by Mariko Saito], this collection makes a wonderful gift and reminder of the Word and creation of God.
